Elements That Affect the Ecological System

by Alvina Mathewson

ecology

The saying ecology and their surroundings have diverse concepts; there’s a consensus that in the environment, there’s the physical and biotic environment. The biotic environment by itself is not influenced by physical things but by organisms and things in its habitat. The environment within an ecological boundary or place is usually known as ecosystem. This ecosystem in turn contains factors and biotic and abiotic characteristics. The environmental ecosystem has practically all that the organisms have to survive and thrive throughout their life.

TEMPERATURE

Temperature can be defined as the amount of hotness or coldness of the body. This variable also affects the members of an environment in their presence or within their cohabitation with other organisms. One of the most important roles it plays in the ecosystem is that the supply of different kinds of species around us. This is a result of the fact that certain organisms can only survive and flourish in specific proportion of temperature and any small increase or decrease in the temperature will result in either a migration of the organism or even death.

WATER

Water does not only act as a portion of the habitat within an ecosystem it’s also a crucial survival sustaining aspect of these organisms within an ecosystem. Even plants that are the principal source and manufacturers in the food chain need it to survive and also process and fabricate their meals.

If water is lacking in an ecosystem it’s practically impossible to have a legitimate and vital functioning ecosystem. Every organism will operate in the physiology that’s peculiar to it. That’s the reason an organism which thrives where there is minimal water might find it hard to thrive in a habitat which has much water and vice versa.
