Forests
Forever (activist organization)
works to defend and restore California's 17 million acres of diverse
woodland ecosystems, through citizen education and grassroots
organizing. Primary focus on protecting Headwaters Forest, and
passing the National Forest Protection and Restoration Act (HR
1494) to end commercial logging on federal public lands. Action

Environmental
Protection Information Center (EPIC)
(environmental organization) grassroots non-profit
working to protect the coastal ancient forests and endangered
species of northern California through education and litigation.
Focus broadened recently to include salmon habitat and enforcement
of water quality laws. Based in Garberville, EPIC serves as a
resource center for environmental activists. Info pages related

BioDiversity & Extinction

reports and analyses on critical conservation issues
